As soon as we visited Canggu, we fell in love and I'm sure you will too. The views across the lush green rice paddies, long winding beaches and vast blue seas is one of the main perks, but there are many more. From world-class surf to luxury villas, there's something for every kind of holidaymaker and expat. All this and it's only a 20 minute drive to the popular and bustling area of Seminyak, and around 45 minutes drive to the International Airport. It's fair to say Canggu is the hippest place to be on Bali at the moment. The area has been undergoing some development, however the places that have sprung up are different compared to the over development happening to Kuta and Legian. Canggu is alternative, and sustainability is what you feel. The influence of the surf scene is ever-present, however more hip and old school than cool. We love it. Old refurbed motorbikes, stylish surf shops, bars playing alternative tunes, and restaurants serving food that suits all tastes from super healthy veggie dishes to total hangover burgers.
